2020 Lucy Kuhlman

Our rarest and most complex wine.  Lucy Kuhlmann struggles to produce much crop on our property.  The berries and bunches are tiny and the resultant wine deep, dark and intense.  Each year we produce a small amount of wine and store it in oak.  Occasionally we test blends of this wine and when an exceptional one is created we blend the vintages, allow it to mature and then bottle.   This release is a balanced blend of several vintages with the barrels topped up with our premium Cabernet.

Tasting notes:

This full bodied, well balanced, deep ruby red wine has smooth tannins, with dark red fruits, leather, anise and black pepper on the nose. It has ripe dark cherry, rich earthy, dark chocolate and tobacco notes on the tongue, with a warm peppery finish that lingers on the palate. It will be a great accompaniment to dark chocolate, raspberry macaroons, stuffed ravioli in a mushroom sauce, arugula topped pizza, a handsome companion, or just on its own.
