Description
2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
We love the Cabernets. Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the first vinifera grapes that we planted on our property to see if it would survive. We were told that it would not ripen in this area of Ontario – it’s too cold, it’s too wet!…
Well it turns out that it does wonderfully here, not too vigorous, and it ripens a bit earlier than in Niagara. So we have planted it as some of our larger plots. One of it’s parents, Cabernet Franc, is also doing well, and we have planted an acre in 2019.
Tasting notes for this wine are :
This balanced, full bodied, deep ruby red wine has ripe red fruit, soft tannins and medium acidity on the palate. There is a lovely earthy nose with aromas of ripe red berries, chocolate and baking spices. It will be a great accompaniment to prime rib, bacon wrapped filet mignon, steak with a blue cheese dressing, mushroom risotto, beef ribs, dark chocolate or just on its own. Decant and Enjoy! This wine has great aging potential.
