Marc Alton – Winemaker
An Engineer and Marine Geologist by training, winemaker, Marc Alton, knew that if you could grow peaches in an area, then you could grow wine grapes.
He set out to prove this with the purchase of a 90 acre farm, creating the first wine grape vineyard in Lambton County.
Completely self taught on the concepts of winemaking, Marc spent countless hours talking to growers, winemakers, reading and researching wine making techniques, in addition to making wine for the past 40 years. Marc challenges traditional wine making beliefs in this emerging region of Huron Shores.
Anne Kurtz-Alton – Winemaker
Never one to call herself a winemaker, Anne Kurtz-Alton has a nose and palate that have guided Alton Farms Estate Winery from one successful vintage to another. Using her love of wine as her guide, Anne is also completely self-taught.
